BRAND NEW MUSIC EXPERIENCE “TROPICAL BOOGIE” MAKES ITS LOS ANGELES DEBUT
Los Angeles, CA – As the Caribbean scene continues to blossom in Los Angeles, so does the island’s musical influence. One special event to look forward to, that incorporates the Caribbean’s music, art and culture into their vibes, is the upcoming “Tropical Boogie” – a day-night party continuum at Los Globos, on the border of Hollywood and Silverlake, set for Sunday October 16. Not the typical day party, Tropical Boogie is an event for every Angeleno interested in experiencing the vibe of the islands, with a global perspective.
The event is set to begin at 2 p.m. on and continue with twelve hours of music, live bands, food and entertainment. The music featured will bring the unique Caribbean feel, featuring reggae, dancehall, soca, reggaeton Garifuna and Afrobeat. Live bands will perform intermittently throughout the day, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., and there will be DJ sets bringing the sounds for the remainder of the evening.
This will be the first “Tropical Boogie” and the event is expected to evolve to outdoor venues in Los Angeles, including beach front properties. On Sunday October 16, guests will be treated to live performances by Krooked Treez, Garifuna band Jangala Roots, African band Abbey Grange, steel pan drummers and more. “I think there is a need for cultural events and we are just starting at this level to initiate contacts. The long term goal is to be by the beach,” says Drummond. Several music lovers are already looking forward to the event as it begins to appear on various social media outlets. Stay tuned for the first ever Tropical Boogie.
